Al-Azhar Documents: Attribution to the Original Source and its Role in Recovery
This paper aims at attributing the documents of Al-Azhar to their original sources, as a satisfactory way towards interpreting the series of documents as research data. The concept of the original source is different from the archiving place; because the archiving place is the repository responsible for receiving documents from government and non-government bodies to be reserved perpetually, and then make available to users, this body is known in Egypt as the "Library and the National Archives". The paper also deals with determining the places in which each series of documents is kept, the periods covered, the time gaps intervening, and the groups related.
