This study investigates one of the prestigious religious jobs in the state of the Mameluke Sultans (248 – 923AH / 1250 – 1217AD) in Egypt and the Levant. It is the job of the Trustee of the Public Treasury who carried out the legal and judicial role of finishing financial transactions. The study examines the nature of the job itself, and its occupant as a judicial deputy of the Mameluke Sultanate in the Judicial Board. It also tries to shed lights on the occupants of this job, their status, and whether they were a judicial representatives or not, their style in carrying out their work, their conditions, and their relations with the Sultans.
