This study handles the role of the Union of South Africa in the Zionist settlement in Palestine from the issuance of the Balfour Declaration in 1917, to setting up the Zionist State on the land of Palestine in 1948.
The study shows the efforts of the Union in the issuance of the Balfour Declaration in 1917, which led to create a Jewish national home in Palestine, through his prime minister, Gen. Smuts, who was a member of the British Ministry of War.Then Union's efforts in interwar period, and the flow of funds from the Union of South Africa's Jews to Palestine to establish Jewish settlements.
And the study also displays the support of the Union for the idea of ​​the partition of Palestine between Arabs and Jews in the United Nations, which the Union delegation had a great role in it. Finally, these efforts were crowned with the Union's recognition of the establishment of Israel State on the Arab land of Palestine in the May 24, 1948.
