وقد تناولت فيها الحديث عن البريهي : حياته وکتابه و طلبه للعلم ورحلاته وشيوخه وأصدقائه وتلاميذه ، ومؤلفاته ، والعصر الذي عاش فيه ، ثم ختمت الفصل بالحديث عن کتاب» طبقات صلحاء اليمن « وسبب تأليفه، وأقسامه ومکانته بين کتب الأعلام والتراجم، وطريقة البريهي فيه، وتحقيقه ونشره, وطبيعة التراجم التي اهتم بها المؤلف، وکيف راعى الشمول النوعي والزمانى, والمکاني فيها، ثم ذکرت طريقته في کتابة التراجم من حيث التلخيص والاختصار، أو البسط والإطالة ووضحت أسباب ذلک,  ثم وضحت منهجه في عرض عناصر الترجمة لمن ترجم لهم في  کتابه, وکيف اشتملت على عناصر عامة وذکرها في معظم تراجمه، إلى جانب العناصر الخاصة التي توافرت في بعضها دون البعض الآخر، وأخيراً تناولت أسلوبه في کتابة التراجم, و تحدثت عن أنواع الموارد التي استقى منها المادة العلمية التي کونت کتابه، فذکرت الرواية الشفهية، والسماع ،والوِجادة,  والقراءة على الشيوخ وغيرها من الموارد ، ثم تناولت منهج البريهي في النقل من المصادر المختلفة وطرقه في ذلک , ثم تحدثت عن نقده للمصادر التي اعتمد عليها عند تأليفه لکتابه، ونقده للروايات الخاصة بهذه المصادر، والتراجم التي احتوى عليها کتابه، ثم ذکرت منهجه في النقد، وموقفه من الروايات والأخبار المختلفة والمتباينة,  وأخيرا : تحدثت عن مکانة البريهي العلمية ، ثم المآخذ التي سُجَّلت عليه في کتابه » طبقات صلحاء اليمن  ", فذکرت مآخذ عامة  عليه مثل : عدم مراعاة التنوع الجنسي في أعلام کتابه وغيرها ، ومآخذ خاصة تمثلت في روايته لبعض الأخبار الغريبة والعجيبة دون التعليق عليها ، وقلة معلوماته ، والمبالغة الشديدة في تعبيراته وألفاظه في بعض الأحيان , وغيرها من المآخذ التي سُجَّلت عليه .
